Uniting Country Housing (UCH)

Uniting Country Housing (UCH) is committed to providing affordable housing options for people in our communities. UCH properties are located in several regional areas of South Australia.

UCH provide affordable housing for those on a low to moderate income and who are having difficulty securing housing in the private rental market. There is a  a range of housing options available for singles, couples and families.  We work with a wide range of partner agencies to enable our tenants access to support services.

UCH provide housing for:

  • People who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • Older people seeking affordable options
  • Families and individuals escaping domestic violence
  • People with mental health issues
  • Young people at risk of homelessness
  • People leaving the justice system

To access UCH Housing, you must:

  • Live in South Australia
  • Not be a homeowner
  • Meet income and asset limits
  • Meet criteria for specific housing programs

(some exceptions may apply in extenuating circumstances)

  • Port Augusta and Port Pirie Homelessness Youth Service

    Port Augusta and Port Pirie Homelessness Youth Service

    Uniting County SA's Port Augusta and Amity Youth Homelessness Service provide a safe, secure environment for young people who are homeless as a result of a crisis.

  • Homelessness Services

    Homelessness Services

    The Yorke and Mid North and Coober Pedy Generic Homelessness Services provides support and housing / accommodation options for homeless people and those at risk of homelessness in regional South Australia. Families, single adults, youth and couples can access support from the service

  • TALI

    TALI

    Uniting Country SA's TALI (Transition to Adult Life Intensive Program) program supports young people 15 to 25 living Port Pirie, Port Augusta, Kadina and Whyalla area who have been in the care of Department of Child Protection for a minimum period of 6 months as a Guardianship child/young person (GOM) to leave care and live independently.

  • Supported Residential Care

    Supported Residential Care

    Supported Residential Care provides emergency and short term therapeutic care for children and young people under the care of the Minister. The program has 5 houses and can accommodate between 1 and 4 children/young people and is directly reflective of the service agreement with the Department for Child Protection.

  • Family Preservation

    Family Preservation

    Uniting Country SA Family Preservation service strengthens and preserves family relationships to ensure children and young people live in a safe, secure and stable environment. Family Preservation works to reduce the risk of children being removed to out of home care.

    Uniting Country SA provides services to families, single adults and children, who are experiencing difficulties such as domestic violence, disability and mental health issues, financial distress, homelessness, and family breakdown in country SA.

  • 24 by 24 Movement Challenge

    On the 19th of October we are supporting Nick Donnellan's 24 hour movement challenge at the Port Pirie Memorial Oval. Move how you want, when you want, for as long as you want, to raise awareness for mental health.
