Uniting Country SA's Family Preservation service strengthens and preserves family relationships to ensure children and young people live in a safe, secure and stable environment. When children or young people are at risk at risk of being removed from their families to out of home care, we work with families to improve relationships and make the home safe.

How does this program work?

Family Preservation works by providing case management from a specialised and skilled workforce to our clients, this is aimed at reducing risk in a families home and improving parents capacity to care for their children. Caseworkers work directly with families to develop and maintain strong family relationships. Families are also directed to other services which can help support family goals. Once referred, this service provides up to 12 hours a week of face to face and indirect support.

This service is only available if referred from the Department for Child Protection.
