Research

Uniting Country SA has partnered with the University of South Australia and Flinders University to produce research related to service delivery in regional South Australia. Our partnership has produced several valuable projects covering diverse subjects such as the benefits of our programs to our clients and our local communities to exploring how our organisation functions and more.

For community and social service workers, practising in regional, rural and remote (RRR) areas presents distinctive challenges and requires a different set of skills from urban practice. Key additional factors that remote workers may encounter include: sparse populations, long distances, few transport options, limited travel routes, isolated living conditions and, in many places, poor telecommunications access.
