Woolworths Donations

Woolworths Port Pirie have been supporting the Uniting Country SA Community Centre Pantry to ensure that vulnerable members of the community have access to fresh quality food.

Over the last 12 months Woolworths have donated over 1874 loaves of bread and 648 kg of fruit and vegetable.

Dr Harry Randhawa presented Ryan McIntosh, Store Manager and Matthew Mutter, Assistant Store Manager with a certificate of appreciation.

A big thank you to the Northern Yorke Peninsula Quilters for their kind quilt donation to the clients of our Domestic & Family Violence services across regional SA. The quilters came from Moonta, Wallaroo, Kadina and surrounds.
Sorry Day 2023

Today is National Sorry Day, which acknowledges the wrongful treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people under Government policy, which came to be known as the stolen generations, which removed children and young people from their families and communities. This occasion represents an opportunity for all Australians to reflect on past government practices and to understand the ongoing trauma that continues to affect the oldest, continuous living culture on our planet.
The Haven workshops

The Haven Port Pirie is currently running a series of Self Care Workshops. If you are interested in attending the next one or a gardening or cooking group then head over to their page. The Haven is a free and confidential service providing information and referrals to women in Port Pirie. The Haven is located at the Port Pirie Community Centre and made possible by Women's Information Service.

The Escaping Violence Payment is available to anyone experiencing violence from their partners. If you are looking to leave a violent partner, or have recently left and you are struggling with the finances to live your life in safety, you could be eligible for support.
