Uniting Country SA (UCSA) is proud to be recognised as one of Australia’s “Best Places to Work” in 2021, thanks to a recent study conducted by WRK+. On Wednesday the 18th of August, the organisation attended a virtual celebration held to announce the rankings and celebrate their achievement. Over 100 businesses were considered for this recognition.  Of them, 40 organisations made the final list, and UCSA ranked 7th in the 100 people plus category. Uniting Country SA is the only South Australian Not for Profit organisation to be recognised on this list.

UCSA worked with WRK+ to take part in this year’s rankings as part of the organisations commitment to ensuring they are a supportive organisation who prioritises a positive workplace culture. WRK+, an Australian research and consulting firm, study how organisations function and makes recommendations for developing and enhancing employee engagement. This study took place over several weeks and included a submission from the organisation as well as an employee survey which was conducted independently of UCSA. The results of this study and others have been published in a special feature magazine distributed nationwide, including the rankings of the 2021 Best Places to Work.

UCSA’s People and Culture team celebrated this achievement at a small event held at the Parham Street Centre Port Pirie. There the team learned of the organisations rank and celebrated with the other organisations across Australia listed. The team also began planning what they could achieve during the next 12 months to ensure that UCSA continues to be recognised as an employer of choice in regional South Australia.

“We are really honoured to be recognised as one of the best places to work in Australia. It’s important to us that we value our people and formally receiving this recognition demonstrates we do that”

- Karen Shearer, Executive Manager People & Culture
