The Recorders Uniting for Christmas Appeal We recently celebrated the launch of The Recorders Uniting for Christmas Appeal at the Port Pirie Community Foodhub. This appeal, now in its second year, assists Uniting Country SA in its work supporting country people to enjoy the festive season. This year, the appeal is being supported by local independent state MP Geoff Brock and the Port Pirie Mayor Leon Stephens. Christmas time is one of the busiest times for the Community Foodhub, and we are grateful for all the support we receive. Over the next month, people in Port Pirie and the surrounding communities are encouraged to support the community Foodhub by donating food, consumables as well as Christmas items like bon-bons and Christmas treats. Donations can be made at special bins located throughout the town. More information on where to find the bins can be found here on The Recorders website. Last year we received over 800 donations from our supporters including: 225 canned goods, 201 pantry items, 80 cartons of long-life milk, 71 hygiene and cleaning items, 62 jars of spread, 58 packets of biscuits, 33 Christmas cakes and 75 other miscellaneous items. Uniting Country SA thanks the Port Pirie Recorder, Geoff Brock, Mayor Leon Stephens and the wider community for their invaluable support at this time of high demand. Community Foodhub
